We proudly congratulate Jafar Saga Zamora, an incoming senior BS Economics student from MSU-IIT, for successfully presenting his youth-led project ๐ถ-๐ฆ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ฆ (Integrating Skills and Understanding for Media Awareness, Knowledge on Scams, Empowerment, and Smart Saving) during the Generation Connect Young Leadership Programme (GCYLP) 2025, held in Geneva, Switzerland from July 28 to August 1.
Jafar was selected as one of only 31 global fellows from a competitive pool of 6,800 applicants across 156 countries, and was the only Filipino representative in this yearโs cohort. The program, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in partnership with Huawei, provided intensive training in innovation, project management, and leadership development.
Through the GCYLP platform, Jafar secured a $5,000 grant to implement i-SUMAKSES, a project that aims to equip underserved youth in Mindanao with digital literacy, scam awareness, and financial education.
Your JES family is beyond proud of this kabataang ekonomista who continues to make a meaningful impactโglobally and locally.
