Teaching Vision

This classroom will have an inviting, interactive, and positive environment for learning, embracing diversity, and building friendships. In order to maintain this type of classroom, the students and I will need to become a community that supports, respects, and trusts one another. From day one, it will be vital to establish a classroom community, which will be built off of a foundation of collaboration and respect.

It is my goal to inspire all students to be the best they can be throughout their education. I want each of them to find their purpose in our classroom and utilize their abilities and talents to positively influence their educational experience. I will not only be their teacher – I will be a coach, a friend, and a support system for each of my students. It will be my goal to provide anything that they need in order to be successful. I want each one of them to set goals for themselves and apply what they have learned, from mannerisms to academic content, to their own lives outside of the classroom. I hope to see them grow into humble, determined, and opportunistic individuals who one day will graduate and begin their own careers.

Part of my teaching philosophy is to establish a supportive classroom environment of mutual relationships among the students and teachers. Having autonomous students who have goals for success will be supported by the way the classroom functions. Additionally, building up a community within the classroom will allow for the students to create bonds, practice their social responsibilities, and be successful citizens. They will lean on one another for assistance and they will be in an environment where mistakes lead to learning and where failure is never an option. Each student will encompass a growth mindset and utilize this as a tool for overcoming the barriers that they may face. In this classroom, every student will contribute to the learning and every student will reflect on their own growth from the first day of school to day number one hundred eighty.
