My educational philosophy is that strong relationships and trust are the backbone of an emotionally and academically functional classroom. I work hard to build a community in which each member has the opportunity to be seen, heard, and respected.
I received my Master of Education from Portland State University in 2018, with a focus on Arts Integrative practices. I love bringing art and technology into the classroom!
I grew up in Portland and attended Glencoe Elementary, Mt. Tabor Middle, and Lincoln High School.
I love animals! I have a 17 year old cat named Tails, a 2 year old Golden Retriever named Saffy, and an (almost) 1 year old Bernese Mountain Dog named Bunty.
Tails is on house arrest because he hates it when the mail is delivered. Ask me how I know.
I spend a lot of time watching birds in my backyard and am getting certified as a Backyard Habitat!
I grow orchids and several times a year they blooms with flowers! The small pink flowers in the photo to the right smell like cherry chocolate.
I love to garden and spend a lot of my free time digging out weeds and planting native Oregon plants in my yard. My garden is my happy place!
I love to make art. I draw, paint, sculpt, sew, photograph, film...the list could go on and on! I trained as an artist and taught arts and culture to K-5th graders before I went back to college to become an elementary teacher.
I love to 3D print! I have five printers and spend a lot of time designing and printing models for fun and for education.
