Why is reading important?
Reading is a crucial component of a students academic and life long success. Reading at a young age builds a strong foundation of reading comprehension, which allows students to expand their vocabualry, encorage their minds to be curious, and gives them a source of imagination. The more students read, the better they are at it!
Why is good literature important?
Students learn by exposure to written and oral literature. Therefore, good literature is imporant because it sets a model of literature skills for students. The more exposure students have to good literature, in and outside of school, the better their literacy skills will be.
