## Class Announcements

**Monday April 6, 2020**

This week's lesson and homework can be found in the Hapara workspace called "Patterning and Algebra"

Grade 7s will review what it means to evaluate an algebraic expression in part 1 and solve algebraic equations using "Guess-and-Check" in part 2.

Grade 8s will review algebra concepts from earlier in the year and then solve word problems using algebraic equations. The video lesson can be found here.

You can get free access to the Nelson Math textbooks here.

There is another textbook that I really like that we don't use in class- Math Makes Sense (Ontario Version). It is available for free through Pearson. You will need to use Texidium to view textbooks from Pearson but they do offer really nice explanations and examples for different topics.

A lot of you are asking when new learning will take place- **our first priority is the health and safety of our school community**. Our second priority is to get everyone connected. If you don't have access to a device that you can do schoolwork on (your phone won't be great for this for the long term) you NEED to tell one of your teachers so that we can make arrangements/get a Chromebook for you.
