Executive function and self-regulation skills are the mental processes that enable us to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks successfully.   These skills are important for children to learn and develop so that they can manage situations they encounter.  The twelve executive functioning skills are self-restraint, working memory, emotion control, focus, task initiation, planning/prioritization, organization, time management, defining and achieving goals, flexibility, observation and stress tolerance.

We will be working on several of these skills throughout the year.  We will focus on one each month and practicing the steps for each when we encounter situations in which we need to use these skills.
