BE GREAT. BE INSPIRED. BE AN INSPIRATION

What to expect...

American Sign Language (ASL) is a visual language; it is spoken with your hands and heard with your eyes. According to the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), ASL includes shape placement, hand movement, facial expressions and body movement. Because ASL is a visual language and the goal of this class is to help students gain understanding about Deaf cultures, voices are EXPECTED to be off unless instructed otherwise. In ASL class, we communicate with our facial expressions, bodies and hands NOT with our voices. It is my hopes that students will have fun while immersing themselves into the Deaf culture and ASL.
