Grading Policy

CONTENT KNOWLEDGE:

Students will be assessed within three categories for Content Knowledge. These include:

-Assessments: Students will have three different types of assessments. Skill Check Ins, Partner/Group Check Ins, and End of Unit Assessments. Due to the Hybrid Schedule, End of Unit assessments may be shortened or replaced with a project.

-Group Check Ins and Projects: Students will be collaborating this year. Students take a number of assessments together and group projects. We will be monitoring the effort of ALL group members. All students may not receive the same score.

-CER: Written Responses: Students will be completing math responses. These responses should include ALL steps taken to solve a math problem and explanation as to why they chose those steps. This helps students gain and retain math processes.

* If a student receives a 3, they are at the class level expectations. To receive a 4 in any area, there will be an extension problem/activity to prove the they have utilized their knowledge to push beyond the common standard. An example of this would be an Exceeding Expectation Question on an assessment.

**Group work is weighted at a lower percentage.

WORK HABITS:

Students will be graded on effort in the areas of: work completion, on-task behaviors, and completion of daily math.

-Work Completion: The following is a rubric I utilize to grade work completion:

  • 0: Student has completed no work for the week

  • 1: Student has completed less than 50% of the work for the week

  • 2: Student has finished 75% of the work for the week

  • 3: Student has completed 100% of the week

  • 4: Student has gone above and beyond. They completed an error analysis, asked questions on the ClassKick app or assisted others with questions with at home learning.

-iReady MyPath: Students will be required to complete 45 minutes of iReady from their MyPath. This is an intervention program that is critical in filling in learning gaps due to any missed classwork last year. Students need to have at least 1 lesson passed. They will be able to finish it any time Monday - Sunday at 10:00 PM. The following is the rubric used to assess their performance.

If a student does not log on, they will receive a 0.
