Competency #4: Listening-Speaking-Viewing

As specified in course specific criteria for each semester, demonstrate the ability to listen and view critically as well as participate effectively in academic discourse - speaking purposefully and responding thoughtfully while demonstrating respect for diverse perspectives and making strategic decisions about content, language use and discourse style.


Standards

Performance task indicates learner's ability to authentically and independently:

    • engage in respectful and meaningful academic discourse.
    • adapt speech to demonstrate an understanding of and respect for diversity.
    • view and listen to multimedia recordings to analyze and critique literature, as specified in course curriculum.
