Andrea Mangolini (AM) obtained a Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Genoa, and currently he is a PhD candidate in Science and Technology of Materials at the same university. His research activity is focused on the analysis of iron based magnetic nanoarchitectures (bare, core-shell and functionalized with organic molecular coating) by Mössbauer spectroscopy. The research aims to investigate the correlation between their crystal structure, magnetic ordering and magnetic properties, paying particular attention at surfaces and interfaces. Finally, a part of his work focuses on the analysis and development of the conceptual and methodological frameworks involved in the scientific research process, redefining both terminology and conceptual tools.
