Weekly Updates

November 9, 2018

The first graders have been learning about different Native American tribes. They have been discovering some of their diverse homes, clothing, food, and lifestyles. The students have been using information and diagrams in their Social Studies books and other books, as well as some Smart Board activities. They have written about what it might be like to be a Wampanoag. Today during a special Friday Centers, the students enjoyed different activities related to what they have been learning. Be sure to ask your child about this week’s activities. Thank you.

Last week, nursing students from Prairie State College visited and taught the students about poison safety. Please discuss this important topic at home. Thank you.

As you read in your mail, the first graders have earned a special Spirit Wear Dress Down Day on November 14! A reminder: Students are to wear jeans, not leggings or jeggings. Gym shoes with white, black, or blue socks are to be worn, not boots or multi-colored socks. Footies are also never allowed. Thank you for your cooperation.

Have a peaceful, peace-filled weekend.

Peace,

Mrs. De Castro :)
