Welcome back!!

Room 1 is off to a great start this year! I am delighted to be working with such bright, wonderful children! My "FAB FIRSTIES" and I are going to be learning many new and amazing things, and have fun doing so.

On this website you will find information that will help you understand your child's first-grade experience. I look forward to helping your children build foundational skills to help them become life-long learners.

Reminder

Kindly check your child's homework folder on a daily basis.
Bring your green folders & backpacks to class daily!
Friday is the day to wear your Fairburn T-Shirt or bracelet.
Fairware tees & wristbands are on sale on Friday afternoons.
Please send your child dressed appropriately for physical education, including sneakers, or closed toe, rubber soled shoes everyday for FAIRBURN IN MOTION, our morning fitness program, and to prevent accidents on the yard.
Daily pick up for non-STAR students will be on the yard, near the girls' bathrooms. PLEASE be sure I acknowledge that you and your child are leaving, and check you off on the class roster.

Here are some special Back to School Day instructions:BACK TO SCHOOL DAY IS TUESDAY, August 27th , from 8 - 9 AM!Please bring your child to school by 7:55 AM. Parents may enter our campus with children through Parent Patio, on Rochester Ave. starting at 7:40 AM. Children must be in their line by 8:00 AM to participate in morning exercises. Parents only may also enter the school through the front doors on Fairburn Ave. beginning at 7:55 AM. All parents should sign in and obtain a yellow VISITOR STICKER which will be available in the MPR if you enter at the Rochester gate or at the Front Door if you enter on Fairburn. Parents will walk to their child's classrooms at 7:55 AM and teachers will begin their presentations promptly at 8:00 AM.Once you have finished at 9 AM, please exit the school through the front doors on Fairburn Ave.

YOU are all invited to TASTE OF FAIRBURN on Thursday, 9/5, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., come kick off the new school year with the entire Fairburn community. We have planned an evening of FUN, FOOD, AND SHARING to celebrate the diverse cultures and heritages that we have here at Fairburn Avenue Elementary! It will be a great opportunity to catch up with old friends, make some new ones, find out about volunteer opportunities, and learn more about what’s in store for the coming year. All families are invited to bring an appetizer, side dish or dessert representing your culture to share.
