So what exactly is agriculture? If you got dressed for school, ate a meal, played fetch with your dog, rode the school bus, or used paper and pencil today, then you experienced agriculture. Agriculture is the production of the food, fiber, biofuel, and other products necessary to sustain life. From cultivating the crops needed as a food source to monitoring the health of livestock and companion animals, to welding and repairing small engines, agriculture plays a role in almost every aspect of life.
This semester, we will explore agriculture in all of its many forms through interactive, hands-on instruction. By the end of this course, you should not only have a better appreciation for agriculture but may even consider a future career in Georgia's number one industry!
