About me

My name is Mohd Roslee Othman. I am an academic staff from the School of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia (SCE@USM). My interest is in teaching and research involving development and characterization of micro and mesoporous materials in the form of thin films, membranes or bulk solids. I seek to understand these materials and their functionalities for practical application in separation of fluids, gas enrichment, catalytic reactions in many processes including oil & gas processing.

These micro-porous materials have been researched for gas enrichment of carbon dioxide (carbon capture & utilization), methane, hydrogen and oxygen. They also have been used in the trans-esterification, fuel cell and fuel upgrading into higher octane gasoline. Exploration on the possible applications of these materials in environmental sustainability is also being pursued. I welcome you to explore the research together.

Research interest:

Porous-dense membrane technology; Fluids enrichment, purification and utilization; Adsorption & catalysis; Nano-material synthesis; Characterization & process simulation; Renewable energy & sustainability; Petroleum-gas production, recovery & processing.
