Designing New MRI Technology For Modern Medicine
This is a continuation project that began in the fall of 2020. Current magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology uses magnetic fields up to 3 tesla (T). Increasing the field strength would allow for faster MRI scans with higher quality images. Our goal is to test and implement novel radio frequency (RF) coils that can operate effectively in these stronger fields of up to 7T.
