Click here for the 2018-19 Key Middle School syllabus for the 8th Grade Civics & Economics course. The objective of this course is to teach students how to participate effectively and responsibly in a government “of the people, by the people, for the people.” The eighth-grade Civics and Economics curriculum introduces students to the concept of citizenship, the structure and function of the United States’ government, and basic principles of economics, as identified in the Virginia Standards of Learning and the FCPS Program of Studies. Students will examine the United States and Virginia systems of government at its various levels and basic economic concepts through a digital classroom.

All of the class notes, activities, and assignments will be posted on this website as well as in your Google Classroom account. Please remember that all class resources will be on Google Classroom, because I do not use Blackboard 24/7 Learning in my classroom.
Parents and guardians, Google Classroom does not allow parents to have their own account at this time. However, by asking your student to log into their Google account, you will be able to access Civics class resources and monitor their progress.
