MD MAHFUZUR RAHMAN
I am Md Mahfuzur Rahman and have completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science at Georgia State University. My Ph.D. work has exclusively focused on developing interpretable AI models to study and understand mental illness. I am currently working as a "Postdoctoral Research Associate" at the Center for Translational Research in Neuroimaging and Data Science (TReNDS), Georgia State University.
At TReNDS, I work on explainable AI to improve our understanding of brain function and dysfunction. Specifically, I develop interpretable deep learning models, explainability methods, and metrics to learn the brain dynamics and provide understandable interpretations for models’ predictions. The empirical aspect of my research is to make this interpretability framework a clinically supportive tool for medical practitioners working on nervous system disorders like autism, schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s.
My research interests center around explainable AI (XAI). In particular, I strive to develop trustworthy AI agents to facilitate growth of business enterprise, medical domains, or any other discipline where AI can play a significant role in guiding human intuition.
