Tammy is your average pre-teen. She has a crush on a popular jock. She wants to fit in with the cool crowd. Her parents and teachers just don't get her. Oh, and she's part T-Rex. Being different is never easy, but it gets a whole lot harder when your lunch is raw meat and you get muzzled every time you roar in math class. With the help of her best friend, Hope, Tammy struggles to keep her talons in check and her head held high. But can she learn to navigate the hallways of middle school while governing her own prehistoric tendencies? A hilarious homage to growing up in the 90s.

The grandfather orders breakfast from the plastic menu. He says he will have "the ranch-fresh eggs, crisp bacon, and fresh-squeezed orange juice." Big Guy finds this excruciating. More so when he grandmother reads from the menu aloud.

Big Guy leads me to the side of the room where a black light turns our white clothes purple. The black light does something else, I notice. When Big Guy talks, it turns the capped tooth dingy gray. Another girl notices; she says that is why you never see a black light used in Hollywood.

Then it's both of us sitting in the humid dark, Big Guy buzzing along with the radio, me scratching the mosquito bites I always get. A few minutes of this and Big Guy is off to the bathroom. He comes back with a small pink bottle. He sings, "You're gonna need an ocean / of calamine lotion" as he dabs it on the hot white bites.

I had only been kissed once before. The fellow had made me think of those kids whose mouths cover the spigot when they drink from a fountain. When I had pulled away from him, this fellow had said, "B-plus."

I play back everything that has happened to me before this. I want to ask Big Guy if he is doing this, too. I want him to know what it clearly seems to me: that if it's true your life flashes past your eyes before you die, then it is also the truth that your life rushes forth when you are ready to start to truly be alive.

"Part Two" peaked at number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number two on the Billboard Hot Rap Tracks chart. It also charted on the UK Singles Chart at number four.[1][2] With the song's success on the charts, P. Diddy achieved the rare occurrence of having both parts of the song become big hits.

Jack "Big Guy" Fitch is trying to crack his teeth. He swishes a mouthful of ice water, then straightaway throws back slugs of hot coffee. "Like in Antarctica," he says, where, if you believe what Big Guy tells you, the people are forever cracking their teeth when they come in from the cold and gulp their coffee down. I believe what Big Guy tells you. I'm his partner in crime, so I'm chewing on the shaved ice, too. I mean, someone that good-looking tells you what to do, you pretty much do what he says.

Any minute now he could say it again. Here, between the swishing and gulping, in the round red booth of the airport coffee shop, with his tired, traveling grandparents sitting across the table. They flew in for the services, and they are flying home today. Big Guy drove so fast that now we have time to kill. He thinks the posted speed limit is what you can't go below. He has just earned a learner's permit, so he drives every chance he gets. (I have six months on Big Guy; this makes me the adult in the eyes of the D.M.V.)

Holy Smokes this is awesome!!! I wanted to do something like this on my fireplace wall, but now Im thinking using pallets are the way to go. Thankfully for me I work at a manufacturing facility and pallets are aplenty! Thanks so much for the inspiration.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time out to read this. I have a couple questions. I was wondering how you got the pallets to match in color? I understand that the colors are not 100% identical, but they are really similar and most of the pallets I have found are really light in color. I was wondering if you just picked up the pallets that were weatherd or is there something I can do to the light colored pallets that will match to the more weathered ones. Thank You! You guys did a wonderful job! Very impressed.

But it was on this particular day with my dad that all the pieces Maggie, Ben, and I had been juggling came together to form the original cover. It was also the last day I would see my father alive. Six months later he died from a heart attack.

So I am battling my own reluctance, a project with no clear direction, and a crazy deadline. How was I going to make this happen? There was only one thing to do . . . don't do it alone . . . it was time to call . . .

Publisher Susan Van Metre: Here is what the cover needs to convey: that this is the funniest book you'll ever read about someone dying, but that it's really not about someone dying. It's about someone being forced to come alive. It's a kind of exquisitely funny and painful high school rebirth story

Publisher Susan Van Metre: Hey, I think we are closer than you think. I think what we like about the pencil option is that the type in addition to that one small "prop," the pencil, tells a story. The type looks like pencil writing--great. That tells us that someone is being creative. The pencil has an eraser. The "Dying Girl" part of the type is being erased. That tells us that the creator is uncertain of his work, as well as telling us that someone is dying and that the book is cheeky about it. In fact, I might be talking myself into that version!

I like the Nick Hornby's, below, because part of Fever Pitch is made from a soccer scarf and is kicking a soccer ball. High Fidelity is made from headphones. The A Long Way Down type looks like buildings. They are mostly type but communicate some aspect of the story via the form of the type or a prop.

Art Director Chad Beckerman: Somewhere in between all of the above comps I was working on other approaches in case Will's comps didn't work out. I normally never take this approach but after talking with Will we decide in the interest of time it was best to cover all the bases. So I started working on type driven covers.

Art Director : Chad Beckerman: But in the end there was one clear Will winner that kept making every cut. A cover that was serious yet funny. A cover that would appeal to both the core young adult audience and adults. I give you this final revised Me and Earl and the Dying Girl cover

One last thing, sorry. I know this is annoying. I chose those books over other classics as I was trying to stay away from all the hoodoo voodoo magic, witches and supernatural books that I feel like so many literary classics are. I was looking for some cute classics that a Christian could read and chose those. I noticed your bible books and I am assuming our girls are similar in age. Any recommendations on literature she loves?

I adore your style! I am using your room as inspiration as I do my girls room. Could you share where you got the bird prints above her dresser? My daughter loves birds and I have been searching forever trying to find some cute 810 prints.

OMG, I LOVE her room. Not having any girls (except for my dog) I need to live vicariously through you. Ha! Ha! I seriously love it all! That wallpaper is gorgeous and I also love all the little details the butterflies, the clock and her crafting area. Beautiful! x

I think a child having a beautiful room helps her learn how to have a beautiful, organized home when she has her own home. My daughter has turned college apartments into pretty homes and some rental properties into a comfortable place and now a custom build home into something very special. It makes her husband very happy.

I'm back for Part II of my New Adventures Style Girls/ Style Dreamers dolls review!

Like I mentioned in Part I, it was while doing my original review that I heard about the alternate version of Playzone Style Girls, "Style Dreamers," that could be found at Tuesday Morning--in particular the one that did not have a Playzone lookalike.

I noticed Charlie's lip color is pale compared to the other 14" Style Girls. I'm not sure if this is the case with just my Charlie or Charlie in general; her promotion photo shows her with a deeper lip color.
