Poetry: Assignment #1 --

This unit begins by having you explore poetry on the web. We will begin writing our own poems soon.

Step one: Check out the following links to poetry organizations, collections, and general information about poets and poetry.

Step two: Choose at least three poems that you like and share them with a partner. Read them (or a portion) aloud, explaining what you like about each poem. What drew you to this particular poem or poet? Avoid song lyrics and anonymous poems.

Step three: Next type up (or copy & paste) your three poems into a Word document

Include a proper heading with your name and poetry assignment #1,
include the name of the poet, the title and the full text of each poem.
When copying and pasting from the web, use “paste special” and choose “unformatted text”.

Email to the teacher by the beginning of the period on Wednesday.
