Joey Albin

Eugene "Joey" Albin joined OU Libraries in August of 2019 as the Social Sciences & Education Librarian. In this role, he serves as the subject librarian for several academic departments and provides research consultations, in-class instruction, and scholarly services to students and faculty.

Joey received his Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of Oklahoma in 2014, and his Bachelor of Music in Music Theory from Belmont University in 2009. While at Belmont a hearing became evident that has resulted in Joey relying on hearing aids. His professional interests include leftist theory and the history of leftist theory, the history of rural activism, games, food in society, and information-seeking and sense-making behavior. In his personal time, Joey enjoys playing tabletop games, cooking, and serving as a loyal subject of his cats. A recovered trumpet player, Joey plays bass in the wizard rock band, “Percy and the Prefects.”
