Libraries play key role in creating literate environments and promoting literacy by offering relevant and attractive reading material for all ages and all literacy levels as well as offering adult and family literacy programming. Library staff are Literacy Experts that support their community. The I AM A LITERACY EXPERT competency supports staff professional development towards building their literacy expertise as well as program facilitation.

Currently all Core Programming Training is provided in person by the Learning & Growth Department. These eLearning modules will provide supplementary information to help library staff provide programming that will exceed customer expectations.
