BORROWER SERVICES CLERK

Borrower Services Clerks have two fold critical responsibilities, they need to provide exceptional customer service while at the same time effectively process and manage library materials. The Borrower Services Clerk must maintain a high standards of efficiency as well as complete all other behind the scenes customer service functions related to material processing. It is important for Borrower Services Clerks to work together as a team so they can complete their work quickly and accurately.

Borrower Services Clerks also have excellent customer service skills and assist customers effectively with their account and borrowing needs. Their job is to maintain the high quality of the Markham Public Library’s customer records and have interactions that are grounded by our Customer Service Standards. Borrower Service Clerks are responsible for resolving customer issues at the first point of contact and ensuring customers have an excellent service experience.
