We are glad to announce a four-day virtual/online MPI Workshop to be held from 26-29 April 2021 hosted by the Department of Physical Sciences, IISER Mohali. The purpose of this workshop is to provide undergraduate researchers with knowledge and understanding of parallel computing using MPI(Message Passing Interface).

The workshop will be held via Zoom. The workshop will have 2 hours session each day which will include brief lectures explaining MPI basics and tutorials on the implementation of MPI algorithms with C++.

Topics:

• Introduction to MPI programming
• Learn basic MPI terminologies
• Write and run parallel programs in C++
• Performance analysis of a few serial vs parallel programs
• Study a one-dimensional physical system Harmonic Oscillator using Monte Carlo MPI
