Barangay Poblacion is a part and one of the 11 barangays of the Municipality of Mawab which is located in the Province of Davao de Oro. Created by virtue of Executive Order 351 on August 14, 1959, Barangay Poblacion serves as the center of trading activities in the Municipality of Mawab. It is 75 kilometers away from Davao City and is connected by 17.5 kilometers concreted road from Tagum City and 13 kilometers from the Municipality of Nabunturan the Capital Town of Davao de Oro Province.
It is bounded on the North by the Barangay of Malinawon, on the South by the Barangay of Sawangan, on the East by the Barangay of Nuevo Iloco and the South Southwest by the Barangay of Tuboran. It has a total land Area of 1,720 hectares and population of 11, 013 It is also composed of Four Sitios with Twenty Eight (28) Puroks namely:

Dizon Line 17, 12, 13,& 19
And in the heart of Poblacion are the Purok Centers of 1, 1A, 2, 2A, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 8A, 18 & 16.
The Puroks of the Barangay are inhabited by Boholanos, Ilongos, Cebuano, Leyteños, the Muslims & Mansaka tribes.
Barangay Poblacion of merging constituents of different social, cultural values, customs & traditions motivates the Barangay Officials to establish and maintain order in the community so that its members may live together peacefully and gainfully. This is achieved by regulating the relationship among the people, on one hand, between the people and the government, on the other.
Barangay Poblacion strongly committed to strengthen the Lupong Tagapamayapa because we believed on of the good thing to happen with this judicial innovation minor cases may now resolved at the Barangay level without need of court action. This means a number of good things, it cut the cost of litigation in terms of money, time and effort. It will preserve the old Filipino tradition of settling disputes amicably. It will implement the constitutional mandate of strengthening the family as a basic social institution.
The topography of the barangay is consists of flat, rolling, hilly and mountainous types, which are evenly distributed and are traversed by the rivers, namely: Sao-sao River, Mawab River and the widest, the Hijo River.
The climate of the Barangay of Poblacion is favorable with no dry season and with very prominent rainfall. However, some parts of the Barangay are affected by floods and prone to erosion especially during rainy days.
Power supply is provided by the Davao del Norte Electric Cooperative. The Barangay has a third level water supply. Smart and Globe are the service provider for telecommunications. Tricycle, motorcycle and trisikads are the means of transportation in the barangay. Buses and jeepneys are also available for transportation to another barangay and other municipalities.
Agriculture is the main economic activity in the barangay with bounty product of rice, corn, coconut, banana and more kind of fruits and bounty water as well, followed by commerce and industry.
