Welcome to the Opto- and Flexible Electronics Laboratory (OFEL) at Dankook University!

Our group aims to study optoelectronics and flexible electronics, which are closely intertwined with the development of next-generation human interfaces. Specifically, we focus on the design and exploration of quantum dots (QDs) based on two-dimensional (2D) materials, with a particular emphasis on controlling their photophysical properties. The unique optical and electronic properties of these materials enable a wide range of applications, such as displays, lightings, and sensors. We are also interested in advancing skin-interfaced technologies that allow for the monitoring of various physiological signals, as well as providing mechanical and thermal stimulation across large areas of the human body. A set of these ideas would realize future human interface that improves the quality of human life.  

단국대학교 고분자시스템공학부 광전자 및 유연 전자소자 연구실은 미래형 휴먼 인터페이스 구축을 위한 학제적 연구를 수행합니다. 우리 연구실의 주요 연구 분야는 고효율의 발광 특성을 나타내는 이차원 물질 기반의 양자점 소재를 디자인하고 디스플레이, 조명, 센서 등 다양한 분야에 응용하는 내용을 포함합니다. 또한, 생리학적 신호를 측정 및 기계적, 열적 자극을 효과적으로 피부에 전달할 수 있는 피부통합형 시스템, 유연 전자소자 등을 연구하고 있습니다. 

Research highlights

We are currently seeking motivated undergraduate and graduate students interested in research for 2D materials and applications. We will provide opportunities such as scholarships, technical trainings, industry-university cooperation activity, and participation in academic conferences.
