MOZI WorkShop LLC (“MOZI WorkShop,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the Gif Master iOS application and related support and legal pages (collectively, “Gif Master” or the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use Gif Master, why it is processed, when it may be shared, how long it is retained, and the choices and rights available to you.
This Policy applies to the current version of Gif Master. It does not apply to third-party applications, websites, or services that have their own privacy policies.
1. Summary of Gif Master’s Data Practices
Gif Master is primarily a local media-editing application. The current version:
• does not require a Gif Master account;
• processes your photos, videos, Live Photos, GIFs, editing projects, and exports locally on your device for core editing functions;
• does not upload your media to MOZI WorkShop servers as part of ordinary editing;
• does not provide cloud storage for your projects;
• does not sell your personal information;
• does not display third-party advertising in the current version; and
• uses limited third-party services for usage analytics, crash diagnosis, feedback, policy hosting, and user-initiated sharing.
2. Information Processed by Gif Master
2.1 Media and Creative Content
When you choose to use editing features, Gif Master may access and process:
• photos, videos, Live Photos, and GIF files you select from your photo library;
• photos or videos you choose to capture through an in-app media picker;
• audio captured with a video when you choose to record video and grant microphone permission;
• text, stickers, filters, backgrounds, layout choices, timing, crop information, and other edits you add; and
• GIFs, image frames, thumbnails, previews, and other files generated by the application.
This content is processed locally on your device to import, preview, edit, save, and export your work. Gif Master does not upload this content to MOZI WorkShop servers during ordinary editing.
If you choose media stored in iCloud Photos, Apple may download that media to your device under your Apple account and Apple’s terms. If you deliberately share an exported image or GIF through a supported third-party service, the content you select is sent to that service at your direction.
2.2 Device Permissions
Depending on the feature you choose, Gif Master may request:
• Photo Library access, to select source media and save exported GIFs or image frames;
• Camera access, if you choose to take a photo or record a video through a supported in-app picker; and
• Microphone access, if you choose to record a video with audio.
Gif Master does not request precise location permission for its current editing features. Location attachment is disabled in the in-app camera configuration used by the current version.
You can grant, limit, or revoke permissions in iOS Settings. If you deny a permission, the corresponding feature may be unavailable, but you can continue using features that do not require that permission.
2.3 Locally Stored Application Data
Gif Master stores certain information locally on your device, including:
• editing projects, draft files, thumbnails, previews, and editing metadata;
• exported or temporary media files;
• application settings, such as language and export frame-rate preferences;
• cache information; and
• a local record of whether you accepted the user agreement and privacy notice.
This data is used to restore drafts, remember settings, display storage usage, and operate Gif Master. You can delete drafts or clear temporary cache through available controls in Gif Master. Deleting the application generally removes its locally stored application data, subject to iOS behavior and any separate copies you saved to Photos, Files, iCloud, or another service.
2.4 Analytics and Diagnostic Data
Gif Master integrates Umeng/MobClick for application analytics and Tencent Bugly for crash and stability diagnosis. Depending on the SDK, device configuration, and applicable permissions, these services may process technical and usage information such as:
• application version, installation channel, feature or screen usage, session events, and timestamps;
• device model, operating-system version, language, time zone, screen characteristics, network type, and available storage information;
• IP address and approximate country or region inferred from the network connection;
• device or installation identifiers made available by the operating system or SDK;
• crash reports, stack traces, performance information, error logs, and diagnostic context; and
• advertising-related technical data that the integrated Umeng SDK declares in its Apple privacy manifest.
We use this information to understand whether features work, measure general usage, diagnose crashes, improve performance, maintain security, and develop Gif Master. The current version of Gif Master does not display third-party advertising, and we do not use this information to build a profile for personalized advertising.
Analytics and diagnostic information is not intended to include the photos, videos, GIFs, or creative content you edit. Please avoid including personal or confidential information in file names, feedback, or diagnostic descriptions where it is not necessary.
2.5 Feedback and Communications
If you use the feedback page or contact us by email, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address or other contact information, feedback text, screenshots or attachments, and information about the issue you report.
The in-app feedback page is hosted by a Tencent service and may independently process browser, network, device, cookie, or account information under its own privacy terms. Do not submit information that is not necessary for us to respond to your request.
2.6 Sharing Through Third-Party Applications
If a sharing option is available and you choose to share content through WeChat or another application, Gif Master transfers the content you selected to that application at your direction. The receiving service may collect account, device, content, and usage information under its own privacy policy. We do not control how the recipient or third-party service uses content after you share it.
2.7 Legal and Support Pages
Gif Master may display policies or support content in an in-app web view. The current English legal pages are hosted using Google Sites. When you access a hosted page, Google may process information such as your IP address, browser or device information, cookies, request time, and page interactions according to Google’s Privacy Policy.
3. How We Use Information
We process information for the following purposes:
• to provide media importing, editing, local draft, export, and sharing functions you request;
• to remember your settings and restore locally stored projects;
• to request and manage device permissions;
• to diagnose crashes, errors, compatibility issues, and performance problems;
• to analyze general feature usage and improve Gif Master;
• to provide support and respond to feedback;
• to protect the integrity, security, and lawful operation of the Service;
• to comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements; and
• to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following: performance of our contract with you, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and improving Gif Master without overriding your rights, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent for optional permissions at any time through iOS Settings, without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.
4. When Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose information only in the following circumstances:
4.1 At Your Direction
When you choose to export, save, or share content, information is provided to the destination you select, such as Apple Photos, iCloud Photos, WeChat, or another application or recipient.
4.2 Service Providers
We use service providers to perform limited functions on our behalf or support Gif Master, including:
• Umeng/MobClick — application analytics;
• Tencent Bugly — crash reporting and stability diagnosis;
• Tencent-hosted feedback services — receiving and managing feedback;
• Google Sites — hosting the English legal pages; and
• Apple — operating-system permissions, Photos and iCloud integration, App Store distribution, and app-rating functionality.
These providers may process information in accordance with our instructions where they act for us and under their own terms where you interact with them directly. We require providers that process personal information on our behalf to use it only for the stated purpose and to maintain protections consistent with this Policy and applicable law.
Provider privacy information is available at:
Umeng: https://www.umeng.com/page/policy/
Tencent: https://www.tencent.com/policies/
Google: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Apple: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
4.3 Legal, Safety, and Rights Protection
We may preserve or disclose information if we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or a valid government request; investigate fraud or security incidents; enforce our Terms; or protect the rights, property, or safety of users, MOZI WorkShop, or others.
4.4 Business Transfers
If MOZI WorkShop is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information associated with the Service may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy and applicable law. We will provide legally required notice of any material change in control or use of personal information.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Local media, drafts, editing metadata, settings, and cache remain on your device until you delete them, clear them through available controls, or remove the application. Content separately saved to Photos, Files, iCloud, WeChat, or another destination must be deleted from that destination using its controls.
Analytics and crash-diagnostic data is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for analysis, security, troubleshooting, and legal compliance, subject to the retention settings and policies of Umeng and Tencent Bugly. Feedback and support communications may be retained while we address the issue and afterward for a reasonable period to maintain support records, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
We may retain information longer where required by law, necessary to resolve a dispute, or needed to protect legal rights. Aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify you may be retained for analytical purposes.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You can control much of Gif Master’s processing directly:
• manage Photo Library, Camera, and Microphone permissions in iOS Settings;
• use Apple’s limited Photo Library selection where available;
• delete individual drafts or clear temporary cache in Gif Master;
• delete exported files from Photos, Files, iCloud, or the destination where you saved them;
• choose not to use feedback or third-party sharing features; and
• delete Gif Master to remove its local application data, subject to iOS behavior and separately saved copies.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, objection to, or portability of personal information we control, and to withdraw consent or appeal a privacy decision. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Because Gif Master does not currently provide user accounts and keeps core project data locally, we may not possess or be able to identify your local media or drafts. For information held by a third-party provider, you may need to contact that provider directly. To submit a request concerning information controlled by MOZI WorkShop, email mozibrowser@proton.me. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
7. International Data Transfers
MOZI WorkShop and its service providers may process analytics, diagnostics, feedback, or web-request information in countries other than the country where you live. Privacy laws in those countries may differ. Where required, we use appropriate legal mechanisms and safeguards for international transfers.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against accidental loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Core project media is ordinarily stored locally using protections provided by iOS and your device settings.
No storage or transmission method is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, Apple account, exported files, and any third-party account used for sharing.
9. Children’s Privacy
Gif Master is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child who is not legally able to consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact mozibrowser@proton.me so that we can investigate and delete it where required.
10. California and Other U.S. State Disclosures
Depending on how applicable state law defines personal information, Gif Master may process identifiers and network information, device and usage information, diagnostic information, user-provided communications, and content you direct to a third-party service. These categories are described in Sections 2 through 4.
We do not sell personal information. The current version does not display third-party advertising, and we do not knowingly sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information.
Residents of states that provide privacy rights may submit a request using the contact information below. Authorized agents may make requests where permitted by law, subject to appropriate verification.
11. European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland
For users in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, MOZI WorkShop LLC is the controller of personal information processed for Gif Master, except where a third-party provider acts as an independent controller. The purposes and legal bases for processing are described in Section 3.
You may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing; receive certain information in portable form; withdraw consent; and complain to a supervisory authority. Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests include providing a reliable local editing service, diagnosing failures, securing the Service, and improving features while minimizing data use.
12. Third-Party Links and Services
Gif Master may link to or open third-party content. This Policy does not govern Apple, Google, Tencent, Umeng, WeChat, email providers, or other services you choose to use. Review their privacy policies before providing information. We are not responsible for their independent practices.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes to Gif Master, third-party services, legal requirements, or our data practices. We will update the “Last updated” date and provide any additional notice or consent required by law. We encourage you to review the Policy periodically.
