Betws y Coed Pre Christmas Guided Walk

Why not join us for a guided walk around the beautiful village of Betws y Coed in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park.

A beautiful walk exploring the wooded hillsides around the Swallow Falls and the Llugwy Gorge, the Swallow Falls being one of the most famous beauty spots in the area.

Visit the famous stone cottage - Ty Hyll or the Ugly House. Ty Hyll is said to be the result of a local law which stated that if a house could be built between sunset and sunrise the builders could claim there house and the land it was built on.

Parts of the path are part of the Sarn Helen, the roman road which linked the forts of Caerhun in the Conwy Valley and the Tomen-y-Muir near Trawfynydd. The Romans often formalised existing routes and tracks, particularly in difficult terrain. This route may well have been in use for several centuries before the Romans arrived.

The walk is 6 1/2 miles long, dog friendly and kids under 16 will be free of charge if accompanied by legal guardian. Complete the walk under the safe guidance of fully qualified, insured and first aid trained mountain guides.

Price per person £25.

Meeting place will be the main public car park in Betws Y Coed and we will meet at 10am with a view of getting back into town around 4pm. (full details supplied after booking) This gives us plenty of time to enjoy the walk and have plenty of breaks and refreshment stops to enjoy the mulled wine and mince pies (supplied by Mountain Escapes) before we head back to Betws to do your own thing.
