🚀 Getting Started & Quick Tips

• Offline First: Motor Track & Drift operates entirely offline. No account required—data is stored securely on your device.

• Backup & Restore: To safeguard your data, use the iOS Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Motor Track & Drift → Offload App (this keeps your data intact) or export activity tables via the share buttons.

• User Guide: In-app tooltips walk you through Drift Scoring, TrackDay Prep, Lap Timer, and Track Journal. Simply tap the “?” icon in any screen for context-sensitive help.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

1. The app crashes or freezes.

• Restart your device and re-open the app.

• Reproduce the issue: note which screen, what button or gesture you used.

• Send a report to cordelia@cfspd.ca with your iOS version, device model, and steps to reproduce.

2. How do I export my drift scores or checklist results?

• On the Drift Points Counter or TrackDay Prep screen, tap the share/export icon.

• Choose Copy, Mail, or Save to Files—your data will be formatted as a simple text table for easy pasting.

3. Can I customize scoring parameters?

• Yes—on the Drift screen, tap Settings (gear icon) to adjust weights for Angle, Smoke, Aggression, and Technique. Your configuration is saved for subsequent sessions.

4. Lap Timer best lap didn’t register.

• Ensure you tap Stop for each lap.

• The best lap highlight updates only when a recorded lap time is strictly faster than previous ones.

• If you hit Stop too late, your split may not be saved—as a precaution, we recommend practicing the flow before your session.

5. How do I delete or edit journal entries?

• Swipe left on any session in the Track Journal.

• Tap Edit to change notes, weather, or photos; tap Delete to remove the entry completely.

6. I lost my custom templates or checklists—how do I recover?

• If you’ve recently reset your device, ensure you restored from a backup that includes your app data.

• For future safety, consider exporting your custom templates (via the share button on the Prep screen) before making large changes.

🛠 Troubleshooting & Diagnostics

1. Enable Logging

   • Go to Settings → Motor Track & Drift → Debug Mode (if available).

   • Reproduce the problem, then send us the generated log file at cordelia@cfspd.ca.

2. Reinstall Without Losing Data

   • iOS will preserve app data when you Offload App (Settings → General → iPhone Storage). After reinstalling, all your activities and templates remain intact.

3. Report a Bug

   • Email us:

     • Subject: Bug Report – [Feature Name]

     • Body: iOS version, device model, description, and screenshots/video if possible.

   • We’ll investigate and aim to include fixes in the next update.
