Internet – to connect to your email provider
Mail content is used only to operate the inbox you chose to add. Messages stay on your device and with your email provider unless you choose to share them yourself.

Contacts – to show names and suggest recipients
Notifications – to alert you about new mail
Storage – to cache messages or save attachments on the device
These are optional. You can turn them off in app settings or device permissions.
