MotionSpot Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how MotionSpot ("the app", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the app.
1. Camera Data
MotionSpot uses your device's camera to detect motion within an area you select. All camera image processing (motion detection, and on-device face detection for the optional "Human Guard" mode) happens entirely on your device. Camera footage is never uploaded, transmitted, or stored anywhere outside your device — including Event History (Pro) photos, which are also stored only on your device.
2. Anonymous Usage Analytics (opt-in)
With your explicit consent, requested the first time you open the app, MotionSpot may send the following anonymous information to the developer via the Telegram Bot API each time an alarm is triggered:
Your device model
An approximate country, derived from your device's IP address (not GPS location)
A randomly generated identifier stored only on your device — not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or any account
Which detection mode was active
This data is used only to understand app usage and improve it. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never linked to your identity. You can decline this at any time in the consent prompt, without affecting how the app works.
3. Purchase Information
If you subscribe to MotionSpot Pro, your purchase is processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store your payment details. We use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, to verify subscription status; RevenueCat may process a randomly generated user identifier and your subscription status for this purpose.
4. Third-Party Services
Telegram (Bot API) — receives anonymous usage analytics, only with your consent
RevenueCat — manages subscription verification
Apple App Store / Google Play — process payments; we never see your payment information
5. Data Retention
Anonymous analytics data is retained for historical usage analysis but is never linked to an identifiable individual. Event History photos remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.
6. Your Choices
Decline anonymous analytics at any time via the in-app prompt
Delete Event History photos at any time in the app
Cancel your subscription anytime via the App Store / Google Play
7. Children's Privacy
MotionSpot is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
