• Incomplete: Rubrics or descriptive criteria for desired outcomes are not included for most assessment activities. 

• Aligned: Rubrics or descriptive criteria for desired outcomes are included in most or all assessment activities. 

• Exemplary: Rubrics and/or descriptive criteria for desired outcomes include models of “good work.” 

How to Implement

Use rubrics with your assessments in Canvas to clearly set detailed expectations and quickly share relevant feedback. Rubrics allow more visibility into the parts of the assignment that need revision as well as identifying the elements of the assignment where students have already achieved mastery. The descriptive nature of rubrics takes the mystery out of grading for students and will help them quickly identify where to focus their efforts for the next assessment.
