Mohammad Shehab is an assistant professor with the Networks Deparment, Faculty of Information Engineering and Technology, German University in Cairo, Egypt. Previously he was with the CEMSE division, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) as a postdoctoral researcher. He is currently working under supervision of Prof. Mohamed Slim-Alouini. Previously, he was with the University of Oulu as a postdocotral researcher. Prior to that, he obtained his B.Sc from Alexandria University in 2011, two M. Sc degrees from the Arab Academy and University of Oulu in 2014 and 2017, respectively. He worked as TA at Alexandria University and assistant lecturer at the Arab Academy in Egypt between 2012 and 2015.
Shehab obtained his Ph. D in Communication Engineering from the University of Oulu, Finland in 2022. He was a visiting researcher to Technical University of Dresden, Aalborg University and the American University in Cairo, Imperial College London during 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2025, respectively. His work so far resulted in 17 conference papers, 22 journal papers, and 1 patent with Nokia Finland. Among a list of many awards, Mohammad won the Nokia foundation award consecutively in 2018 and 2019. His current research directions include but are not limited to machine learning for wireless communications, non-terrestrial networks, semantic communication, and communication in extreme environments.
