Shang Tsung is still a sorcerer and his moveset in the trailer reflects that, with fiery projectiles, massive combos, and the ability to morph into other fighters. Reiko, on the other hand, is described by NetherRealm as "a savage warrior with a fighting style that matches his fierce persona." Elsewhere in the trailer, we get new looks at many of the roster's other fighters, like the Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage and the recently revealed Nitara, who Megan Fox voices.

While waiting for the game's release, watch Ed Boon talk about Mortal Kombat 1 on hot wing-eating interview show Hot Ones, and then watch this Nitara gameplay trailer. After that, read our hands-on impressions of Mortal Kombat 1's Invasions and Story Mode.

The Banished trailer from EVO 2023 showed a bit more of the actual story of Mortal Kombat 1, plus some new characters. We focus first on the returning Reptile, followed by Ashrah, and Havik. Aside from some quick shots of the characters walking together through the forest, and Lieu Kang saying he needs to prepare them all for war, little about the actual plot was given.

It's been over six years since Inquisition, and although we know Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is in development, it'll be a while before we see it. From the release date to the teaser trailer to any news and rumors we could find, here's everything we know about Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

Release date

Mortal Kombat 1 has done a masterful job at slowly managing expectations and building up hype for the new release. Fans were waiting for news for what seemed like years, and now there's a careful buildup of pre-release information and content with every trailer, sneak peek, and beta or play-testing opportunity. While players were excited about the original reveals, which showed off both the new game-changing Kameo system and a new timeline carefully curated by Fire-God Liu Kang. Now there's a multitude of different aspects for fans to be thrilled about.

The new roster looks incredible, featuring series staples such as Sub-Zero and Raiden, but also Kombatants that haven't featured in a while, such as Smoke. Mortal Kombat 1 has a unique chance with the timeline reset to create a more streamlined and better narrative for the Mortal Kombat universe which isn't confusing or self-contradicting. With the recent exhibition at the San Diego Comic-Con, players have been spoiled with not only the Kombat Pack reveal but also detailed story trailers which have highlighted some key new changes.

While this wasn't directly revealed in the trailers but rather confirmed during a fan panel, it has been confirmed that the Scorpion we see in all the trailers is Kuai Liang. While this makes his involvement in the Lin Kuei make more sense, it does beg the question; what happened to Hanzo Hasashi?

Perhaps the biggest change revealed in the new trailer is the changes to Baraka and his fellow Takartans. Tarkat is a disease which, as Baraka describes, 'disfigures and then debilitates.' Victims of Tarkat are shown to be subject to violence and oppression and seemingly shunned by society. Baraka is also openly critical of Liu Kang for his lack of assistance to those afflicted by this disease.

A fighting game is only as good as its best moves and Mortal Kombat has stayed atop the genre for decades by continuing to introduce bold, bombastic, and brutal attacks from its ever-increasing roster of warriors. That trend looks to be continuing in fine fashion with the new film, and here are all the big finishers and fatalities in the Mortal Kombat trailer.

Many are now questioning whether this could be classed as false advertising, as what's shown in the trailer is not representative of the final game. On social media, some fans have voiced their disappointment and frustrations at the buggy state of Mortal Kombat 1 on Switch and its misleading trailer.

On the gameplay front, Mortal Kombat 1 is shaking things up with its biggest new mechanic yet: Kameos, which introduces a tag system to Mortal Kombat for the first time ever. With that in mind, we poured over the new trailer to see what new secrets we could glean from the gameplay trailer.

A new Mortal Kombat 1 trailer is here, giving us our first look at Omni-Man in action. From gameplay to new voice lines, the trailer shows us what will be added when the first DLC pack launches - including two new and incredibly over-the-top fatalities.

The reception from fans is incredibly positive so far, with many pointing out the Invincible references in his moveset. The only concern noted is that some feel the combo game was a little weak in the trailer, but that may be just so it can focus on showing us the individual attacks, rather than spamming them all at once.

The best bit of the trailer has to be the confirmation that yes, J.K. Simmons is still voicing Omni-Man. NetherRealm had already made it clear that it didn't have to get a new actor for the game, but there's no room for doubt now - that's definitely J.K. Simmons' voice. We even get some new voice lines for the base cast, since they'll have to respond to his jabs in the pre-fight banter.

In any case, we'll get our hands on Omni-Man's Mortal Kombat debut next month, although the specific release date is yet to be revealed. This trailer says he'll be added to the game in November, but will be available even sooner to anyone who either picked up the premium edition of Mortal Kombat 1 or has already pre-ordered the DLC pack. If that sounds confusing, then you're not alone - Mortal Kombat 1's monetisation is pretty far from popular right now.

Netherrealm Studios debuted its latest trailer for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 at Gamescom. The new trailer confirms two new Kombatants: Sindel and General Shao (formerly known as Shao Kahn). It also reveals two new Kameo fighters: Motaro and Shujinko.

The recent red-band trailer for the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie has broken records. The promo was viewed more than 166 million times in its first week, making it the most-watched red-band trailer of all time.

As reported by Deadline, within four days, the Mortal Kombat trailer had overtaken the Logan and Deadpool 2 redband trailers, the previous record holders. In addition, the trailer trended in 52 YouTube markets and 28 Twitter markets.

Mortal Kombat will be released in theaters and hit HBO Max on April 16, where it will stay for a month before moving to regular on demand platforms. The movie is directed by Simon McQuoid and stars Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, Josh Lawson as Kano, Sisi Stringer as Mileena, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Lewis Tan as Cole Young, and Chin Han as Shang Tsung. Check out GameSpot's Mortal Kombat trailer breakdown here.

Rain, another returning playable character, was also revealed in the latest trailer. Rain will wield a new magical water staff in this reboot/sequel, and use close and long-range hits to drown and defeat enemies.

If this wasn't already enough to deal with, Nintendo fans have now spotted a Steam notification for what seems to be an achievement in the official Mortal Kombat 1 Switch trailer. This video was uploaded directly to Nintendo's YouTube channel before being set to private.

At the 1:52 mark in the now-removed video, a notification appeared in the bottom right of the screen during a mini-game featuring the Steam UI, the Mortal Kombat logo and the text "Achievement 38" and "Dialogue 38". Obviously, this isn't a big deal, but it's also not a great look as some fans have noted, when it's meant to be a game trailer for the Switch release. ff782bc1db
