Day 1: Marrakech – Ait aourir – Tadart – Ourazazate – Dades Gorges

We leave Marrakech in the morning after breakfast and head to the high Atlas mountains where we drive over the Tizi-Ntichka pass (2260 m altitude). We’ll stop in the town of Ouarzazate, where you can visit Kasbah of Taourirt, former residence of Glaoui or Pasha of Marrakech. In the afternoon we continue to your hotel / riad passing the Valley of Roses and Dades Gorges.

Day 2: Dades Gorges – Tinghir – Tengdad – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast, we’ll drive a few minutes and enjoy one of the best views of the Dades Gorges. From there we can see the impressive mountains with a few picturesque Kasbah’s and Berber villages.

We’ll continue toward Tinghir, the Todra Gorges. Here you have free time to walk around to enjoy the idyllic gorge river. After we head to Tinjdad for lunch. After lunch we head to Erfoud, the Moroccan fossil capital. We arrive in Merzouga around 16:00 o’clock. where we'll drop you off at your hotel / riad.

Day 3: Merzouga – Khamlia – Mefis – Merdane – Erg Chebbi (nomad camp) – Merzouga

Depart from the hotel / riad with our 4×4 and follow the old Paris Dakar rally route. We visit the village of Khamlia, famous for her Gnawa music. After we have to cross a big river to have a break on a panoramic point, from which you can take beautiful pictures of the Erg Chebbi (locally known as Glbnas).

Then we visit an abandoned village where you’ll find Meffis (natural fossils). We’ll continue our exploration and visit a Berber nomad family, we’ll join them for tea in their traditional nomad tents. In addition we’ll visit the old village of Tisrdmen middle in the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Around four p.m. we change the 4×4 for dromedaries to cross the great dunes of the desert to your traditional nomad Bedouin camp in the heart of the desert. Here you can enjoy the sunset, millions of stars, the milky way and the magnificent sunrise.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Ankoub – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate

”Date with the Dawn”! A recommended Sahara custom. Wake up early, walk up to the highest dune around and enjoy the magnificent sunrise. After a relaxing start we go back to Merzouga by dromedary. After a delicious breakfast we leave the desert and drive to Ouarzazate via the Tafilalet Palmgrove, Rissani and the Draa valley. In Ouarzazate where you can visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, former residence of Glaoui or Pasha of Marrakech, the movie studio’s or the Cine Museum (all optional).

Day 5: Ourazazate – Aït Ben Haddou – Agdal – Marrakech

We depart the hotel / riad in after breakfast. We continue to the UNESCO World Heritage site Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient fortified village in typical Moroccan fashion. This spectacular fortified village has been used as film set for more films than any other location in Morocco. After lunch we head back to Marrakech via the Tizi Ntichka pass (2260 m) in the High Atlas. Here we leave the mountain landscape, which give way to the prevailing green and ochre colours. And finally finish in the red city Marrakech. We’ll drop you off at your Riad or the airport.
