Nintendo and 3rd party publishers put a lot of amazing games on the Nintendo Switch, since its release. However, it exist something we call port and remaster that bring existing games to modern consoles. Some companies consider this a way to made more money, whitout creating a whole new game, while others consider this an opportunity to new gamer to play the old games or to give it another chance if they didn't like it in the past. So, I'm here to share with you the games I would like to see on Switch, either because I never play them, for nostalgia or because I want to give them another chance. All right, hope you're ready, because it starts now!
With recent confirmation that Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, a Musou game, is coming to Switch, fans lost hope for a simple port, that seems unlikely, considering the Persona serie is a Sony exclusive. But considering Nintendo is the only one left in the handheld market, playing this awesome JRPG, with a unique and acclaimed UI, music, gameplay and story should be just great to play on the go! Who know, one day?
I know that game as a very precise FPS and need great visual, or whatever, but considering:
Square Enix and Platinium Games consider, since last year, to port this game on Switch.
Platinium Games ported and plan great action games on Switch
it shouldn't be surprising if this game arrive soon on Switch. Sure, it will be downgrade, but what do you expected? I trust Platinium Games and I know they would made it in a way that it still would look great! Lets's not forget the awesome soundtrack this game have!
I've talked about game from this current generation, so let's talk about game from the previous generation, precisely PSP here. If you're a Type-Moon fan, you probably heard about Fate/EXTELLA The Umbral Star and Fate/EXTELLA Link, two action-RPG (Musou like) that are on the Switch. But did you know they're sequel of Fate/EXTRA and the japanese-only Fate/EXTRA CCC? Most surprisingly, these prequel are not the same genre as their successor: they're dungeon-RPG, like Etrian Odyssey. They story is more rich, and the characters aren't limited as Servants: many Masters and NPC play more or less important roles. A remake could fix many problems of those game easily, giving a second life of those portable games. Speaking of portable games, Switch handle this role faithfully, and you could play them on TV for the first time. As for Fate/EXTRA CCC, this could give it an opportunity to release in the west for the first time. But it's the Mother 3 of Marvelous, so don't have high expectations!
I didn't say it often, but my favorite 3D Mario games aren't Super Mario 64 or Sunshine, because I consider them as my least favorite main Mario games (sorry to have an UNPOPULLAR opinion). The reward goes to the Super Mario Galaxy games, especially the first game. Sure, it's linear, but remeber those vast backround, fitting perfectly with those magistral song, played by the Super Mario Galaxy Orchestra? With an HD remaster, they could have more galaxies and even more planets to currents galaxy! In any case, the possibilities are multiples and while you could use motion control, adding more hardcore option (buttons only), like the chinese version of the game, could open the game to a bigger audience. Ho, this game should add a jukebox option. It needs it!
Probably my 2nd favorite Kirby game, after Planet Robobot, Return to Dream Land had a great variety of copy abilities, way better worlds than Star Allies and way more challenge (Star Allies DLC excluded). With a recent 3DS port of Epic Yarn, RTDL should be a good Kirby port for the Switch! But I'm not HAL Laboratory and maybe they want to remake Super Star for a 2nd time (please, no!).
If it wasn't for this game and Tokyo Mirage Session, I wouldn't have bought a Wii U. However, even if Xenoblade Chronicles is my favorite videogame franchise, I didn't get too much into it and is my least favorite Xenoblade game. Don't misunderstand, it's a great game, just not as much as XC1&2. If the game was port on Switch, it would be easier to give it another chance, like I liked Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze way better on Switch. And the portability of the Switch wouldn't force me to always play it on TV. Please Nintendo, let your subsdiary Monolith Soft port it!
Like Xenoblade Chronicles X, this game was one of the main reason I bought a Wii U. I get really into it, but stop playing it at the half, because I mainly played handheld with 3DS and now with the Switch. The sales weren't great on Wii U, but could a port could change the result? Let's hope Atlus consider it and, who know, including a certain Phantom Thief called Joker, as a new content with the persona Arsene as a Mirage!
Atelier Ayesha
Atelier Escha & Logy
Atelier Shallie
With the Arland trilogy who received the remastered treatment and a brand new sequel, at the end of may, the next in line could probably release next. This trilogy from the beggining of the decade is really loved by the fans, who consider it uncompleted. Like the Arland serie, it received a Plus treatement on the Vita. The chara-design was made by Hidari, who later did the one in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Like any Atelier games, the music is gorgeous. If, like me, you don,t like the time limit mechanic, Atelier Shallie doesn't have any, and you could advance at your own pace, as long as you complete the task well! Could a 4th sequel, preceed by ports on Switch happen? Nothing can be tell by now, but one thing is sure: Atelier serie as a bright future on Switch, like on the other consoles it actually is!
