1. Introduction
MoodSpend ("we", "our", "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
By using MoodSpend, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
2.1 Data You Provide
MoodSpend stores the following data that you voluntarily enter:
- **Expense data:** Amount, title, notes, date, and time of expenses
- **Category selections:** The categories you assign to expenses
- **Mood tags:** The mood you associate with each expense
- **Budget settings:** Daily, weekly, or monthly budget amounts
- **Currency preference:** Your selected currency
- **Notification preferences:** Your reminder time settings
2.2 Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do **NOT** collect your name, email, phone number, or any personal identification
- We do **NOT** require account creation or login
- We do **NOT** collect location data
- We do **NOT** collect device identifiers for tracking
- We do **NOT** use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs
- We do **NOT** collect any data from your device's contacts, photos, or other apps
3. How Your Data Is Stored
3.1 Local Storage (All Users)
All your expense data is stored **locally on your device** using Apple's Core Data framework. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud Sync (Pro feature).
3.2 iCloud Sync (Pro Users Only)
If you subscribe to MoodSpend Pro and enable iCloud Sync:
- Your data is synced across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit framework
- Data is stored in **your personal iCloud account**, not on our servers
- Data is **encrypted** by Apple
- We do **NOT** have access to your iCloud data
- Sync uses your personal iCloud storage quota
3.3 No Third-Party Servers
MoodSpend does **NOT** operate any servers. We do not transmit, store, or process your data on any external servers. All data processing occurs entirely on your device.
4. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to:
- Display your expense history and reports within the App
- Calculate budget progress, spending streaks, and financial insights
- Generate on-device analytics (mood analysis, spending trends)
- Send local notification reminders (if enabled by you)
We do **NOT** use your data for:
- Advertising or marketing
- Profiling or behavioral tracking
- Selling to third parties
- Any purpose other than providing App functionality
5. Data Sharing
We do **NOT** share your data with any third party. Period.
- No data is shared with advertisers
- No data is shared with analytics providers
- No data is shared with data brokers
- No data is transmitted to our servers (we have none)
6. Data Retention and Deletion
6.1 Data Retention
Your data is retained on your device for as long as the App is installed. There is no automatic deletion of your data.
6.2 Data Deletion
You can delete your data at any time by:
- Deleting individual expenses within the App
- Deleting the App from your device (this removes all local data)
- Disabling iCloud Sync and deleting iCloud data through Apple's iCloud settings
6.3 Subscription Cancellation
If you cancel your Pro subscription:
- All your data remains on your device (nothing is deleted)
- iCloud Sync stops, but previously synced data remains in your iCloud until you manually delete it
- You retain full access to your locally stored data
7. Children's Privacy
MoodSpend is not directed at children under the age of 9. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the App, please contact us.
8. Security
We take the security of your data seriously:
- All data is stored using Apple's Core Data framework with built-in encryption at rest
- iCloud data is protected by Apple's end-to-end encryption
- The App supports Face ID / Touch ID lock (Pro feature) for additional security
- No data is transmitted over the internet (except iCloud Sync via Apple's encrypted CloudKit)
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- **Access** all your data within the App at any time
- **Export** your data as PDF or CSV (Pro feature)
- **Delete** any or all of your data at any time
- **Disable** iCloud Sync at any time
- **Opt out** of notifications at any time
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through an App update. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
