Given the announcement yesterday in Ireland that there will be an election on Saturday Feb 8th 2020 I am sending out a supplementary Newsletter this month. Over the next week or so the major Parties will enunciate their policies whilst many of the NGOs, Think Tanks, Charities, Coalitions, Unions and other associations will produce their Manifestos. An example can be seen below with the Coalition 2030 Manifesto. (This was produced for the Local and European Election in May of 2019 and although this will be updated a lot of what's in it will be relevant for the upcoming election.

I created a page here for the local elections but in about 2 weeks time I will be send to all succinct information on the parties, the leaders, the issues, the choices and indeed a list of questions you can pose, as an aid to how you might cast your important vote. In the meantime you can encourage all you see to make sure that they,

What are the Issues that are exercising people at present?

(for example and in no particular order)

1. Homelessness
2. Housing / Rent / Housing Lists
3. Health
4. Climate Change / Climate Emergency
5. Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
6. Biodiversity Emergency.
7. Direct Provision and treatment of Refugees / Asylum Seekers.
8. Child and Adult Mental Heath Services (CAMHS). Poorly Funded and uneven spread of services throughout the country.
9. School Secretaries.
10. People forced onto Means- Tested Job Seekers at 65 years of age when forced to retire (as per company policy) whilst their State Pension won't kick in until they become 67 years of age.
11. Rural Broadband.
12. Public Transport.
13. Abolition of the Universal Social Charge.
14. Moving Towards 0.7% of GNI Overseas Development Aid.
15. National Childcare Scheme
16. Allowing for homes to sell electricity generated by their own solar panels back to the grid (Micro-Generation).
