ABOUT US!
Perri Schapiro 28' and Gia Ferguson 28'
Hi! We’re Gia and Perri, two students who started this project because we understand firsthand how challenging it can be to navigate food allergies. Gia was diagnosed with celiac disease at age five and has avoided gluten and dairy ever since, while Perri experienced allergy-related challenges for years before discovering her nut allergy at thirteen. We both know what it feels like to be excluded in the cafeteria, with limited allergy-friendly food options and the constant worry of cross-contamination. These experiences inspired us to create a safe, inclusive environment where every student has access to food they can trust and feel comfortable eating. Through expanding allergen-friendly food options, increasing awareness, educating students, and helping parents feel confident in cafeteria safety, we hope every child can enjoy lunchtime feeling safe, supported, and included.
