Monomoy WritesIntroductionThe end of MRHS's 2023-2024 school year is almost here. AP tests are happening, Seniors are leaving, and finals are only a quick few weeks away. With that comes the final edition of Writes for the year, a sad fact, to say the least.
But we're not done. Things are never over. And we can't wait to return the next, being bigger and better than ever.
To wrap up, let's review some of Writes' best moments. Enjoy!
Writes WrapMonomoy Writes launched on December 17, 2023, to service the student authors of Monomoy Regional High School's The Bite and Sandscript clubs. On that day alone, fourteen remarkable pieces were released.
Quickly, Writes was picked up and loved by the Monomoy community, consistently being featured on MRHS's Friday Focus and attracting hundreds upon hundreds of views. Every month since, a consistent stream of editions came out, both the newspaper and creative writing sides getting more impressive libraries.
So many have found a home within Writes, as it finally freed the talent of the school from the restraints of paper and allowed all types of writers to join in on the fun. To date, 39 unique pieces have been released, alongside the Sandscript's annual magazine, and it's guaranteed more will come starting in September.
ConclusionThe first chapter of Writes has been beyond phenomenal; we are so grateful for the community it has built. None of this would be possible without readers, without you to support us.
