About Me

Molly Archer

I've grown up in Oxford, Miss. for most of my life. I am a senior at Oxford High School, and the Editor-In-Chief of our school paper, the Charger. I was interested in Journalism going into my freshman year at OHS, but didn't know much about it so I decided to enroll in the Intro To Journalism class to try it out. The following year, I joined the newspaper staff and wrote News articles. Through journalism, I've found a love for writing. I found that I really enjoy the entire process of finding a story idea, interviewing, and finally writing. I was able to go out and meet new people, learn about their lives as well as attend different events that were happening around my community. A journalist has to know how to research, communicate and insert themselves into their work. After my first year on staff, I realized I also really enjoyed designing pages. Junior year, my friend Livvy and I were given the opportunity to be Co-Editors-In-Chief. For the past two years, we've worked hard to guide our staff and build the Charger up to what it is today. We take a lot of pride in what we create. Journalism has been a big part of my high school career and has been in that it helps better my social skills through interviewing countless numbers of people for stories as well as improving my writing abilities.
