Effective Date: [Insert Date]. Wonyoung Jang (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the MOKKOO app, an iOS-only emotion-based journaling app. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in the MOKKOO app (the “App”). By using MOKKOO, you agree to the practices described below.
No Direct Personal Data Collection: MOKKOO does not directly collect personal data such as your name, email, or journal contents. All diaries and notes you write are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to us. We do not use external servers to store or analyze your journals. You control your content entirely; you may delete entries or data at any time.
Third-Party Data Collection (Google AdMob): The App integrates Google AdMob for advertising. Using AdMob requires disclosure of data collection . Google’s AdMob SDK collects certain device and usage information to serve ads (for example, Apple’s advertising identifier or IDFA) . In line with Google’s requirements, we inform users that third-party ads may collect information about your device and usage habits . Specifically, Google’s Mobile Ads SDK for iOS “utilizes Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA)” under Apple’s guidelines . This IDFA and other non-identifying usage data allow ads to be personalized. We do not control or share this information; it is handled under Google’s privacy policies. You can disable personalized ads by declining tracking permission (see App Tracking Transparency below) or by adjusting privacy settings on your device.
App Tracking Transparency (ATT): In compliance with Apple’s policies, we request permission via Apple’s AppTrackingTransparency (ATT) framework before any tracking . Under iOS 14.5 and later, we must ask your consent to “track [you] or access [your] device’s advertising identifier” . If you grant permission, AdMob may use the IDFA and other data to show more relevant ads. If you deny permission, your IDFA will be zeroed and the App will only receive non-personalized ads . This decision is entirely up to you; declining does not affect your use of the App or its core functionality.
Photo Library Access: MOKKOO requests access to your Photo Library only if you choose to add images to your journal entries. We use the iOS photo picker or library access so you can select photos. We only access images you explicitly choose; we do not automatically read or upload your photos. Metadata (such as location or timestamp) associated with a selected photo may be accessible when you attach a photo. However, all photos and associated data remain on your device; we do not send them to any servers. You can revoke photo access anytime in your iOS Settings under Privacy > Photos.
Use of Data: Any information collected by Google AdMob (like IDFA or usage patterns) is used solely to serve and measure advertisements. We do not use this data for any other purpose. We do not sell or share personal data with marketers. Subscription and billing are handled through Apple’s in-app purchase system; we only receive confirmation that you have paid for the subscription, not your payment details. We do not collect location data, contact lists, or any health information.
Data Security and Retention: Since your journals are stored locally, we do not transmit or retain your diary entries. We do not maintain backup copies of your journals. You are responsible for your own backups if you wish. We do not use cloud servers or third-party databases for user content. In-app analytics (if any) are limited to aggregate non-identifying usage (for example, crash reporting) and are not tied to personal information.
Children’s Privacy: MOKKOO is designed for general audiences (rated “All Ages”). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). If you are under 13, please obtain parental permission before allowing any data collection. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without consent, we will delete that data.
Your Choices and Rights: You may disable App Tracking Transparency to stop sharing your advertising identifier. You can turn off personalized advertising or limit ad tracking in your device’s privacy settings. You can also manage subscriptions or cancel them at any time via your Apple ID account settings. Since we do not collect personal data, requests to access or delete personal data do not apply beyond the management of your subscription status. For questions about your personal data or this Privacy Policy, you can contact us as described below.
Legal Requirements: We maintain this policy in compliance with App Store requirements and privacy laws. For example, Google requires that apps using AdMob clearly disclose data collection via ads , and Apple requires privacy disclosures for tracking .
Updates to this Policy: We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective Date” above indicates when this version was published. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date or via in-app notice. Continued use of MOKKOO after changes means you accept the new policy.
Contact Information: If you have questions or concerns about privacy, please contact the developer: Wonyoung Jang, at nex5turbo.app@gmail.com. We will address your inquiry promptly.
