Moises de Souza is Affiliated Research of the Institute for the Study of the Asia Pacific (ISAP) and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Asia Pacific Viewpoint, an indexed journal dedicated to publishing academic research within the social sciences, arts, and humanities on the Asia Pacific and Pacific Islands. Moises is also a researcher in Asian affairs at the International Relations Research Center, University of São Paulo (NUPRI-GEASIA). In addition, he is former Lecturer in Asia Pacific Studies and Foreign Policy Analysis at the School of Psychology & Humanities at the University of Central Lancashire (UK), where he also served as course leader of the International Relations BA programme. Additionally, he is the former Chair of the Northern England Policy Centre for the Asia Pacific (NEPCAP).
Moises is a former deputy director of the South China Sea Think Tank (SCSTT), an independent, non-profit organization that promotes dialogue, research, and education on South China Sea issues. He is also a founding member of The Asia-Pacific Policy Research Association (APPRA), an independent platform for research and education about policies in the Asia-Pacific region, based in Taipei, Taiwan.
