Welcome! Dr. Moinul Hossain received his Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh, in 2011. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, NC, in August 2020, under the guidance of Professor Jiang (Linda) Xie.
Dr. Hossain is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cyber Security Engineering at George Mason University, VA. Before joining George Mason, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Towson University, MD. His current research interests include, but not limited to, security assessment of wireless network protocols, threat modeling and counter-mechanism design, cross-technology spectrum sharing, dynamic spectrum access, and vehicle-to-vehicle communications.
I am actively looking for self-motivated Master's (not funded) and Doctoral students interested in wireless networking and wireless network security, including IoT, cyber-physical systems, and 5G and beyond. A good mathematical background is required. Knowledge of wireless communications and computer networks is most welcome. If interested, please send me your CV, writing samples (if any), test scores, and transcripts.
Next-gen Spectrum Technologies: Cross-technology spectrum sharing and dynamic spectrum access
Intelligent Transportation Systems: Applications of mobile edge computing and V2V communications
Wireless Network Security: Vulnerability assessment of network protocols and threat modeling
Security in IoT and Cyber-Physical Systems: Moving target defense, deterrence, and deception
