MohsVault is an offline-first mineral reference and collection tracker. The App does not require you to create an account, sign in, provide an email address, provide a phone number, or submit any other personal identifier in order to use its core functionality.
We do not collect, store on our servers, or sell:
Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address.
Precise or approximate location data.
Contacts, calendars, photos, or files from your device beyond what you explicitly enter into the App or choose to share through system features.
Health, biometric, government identification, payment card, or financial account data.
Your minerals, collections, trips, notes, or value estimates.
All content you create inside the App is stored locally on your device using the platform's standard storage APIs. This may include your custom mineral entries, your collection of finds, collection trips and their details, completed (archived) trips, value estimates, and your preferences such as theme, hardness scale, default specimen count, haptics, notification settings, and which catalog entries you have viewed.
This information does not leave your device unless you explicitly choose to share or export it through system features such as the share sheet or copying exported text.
If you uninstall the App, all locally stored data is removed together with the App.
The App may let you share a text summary of your collection through native sharing features. Sharing is always initiated by you. The App does not automatically upload, transmit, synchronize, or back up your records to any server.
Once you share content through system features or another app, that content is handled according to the policies and settings of the receiving service.
If you enable trip reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device to remind you about upcoming collection trips. These reminders are generated and delivered locally by the operating system; no reminder content is sent to us or to any third party. You can disable reminders at any time in the App's settings or in your device's system settings.
The App includes a built-in catalog of reference minerals for browsing and identification. This catalog and any sample content are stored locally and are not connected to any online account or remote service. You can erase all local data from the App's settings.
The App may use the platform's standard crash reporting and diagnostic services. This information is processed by Apple in accordance with its privacy policy and is not directly accessible to us in a personally identifiable form.
The current version of the App does not embed third-party advertising networks, analytics providers, social media trackers, cloud sync services, or backend services that collect personal data.
If a future version introduces any third-party service, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly before that version is released.
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Because all of your content is stored locally on your device, you remain in full control of it at all times. You can review, edit, export, or delete your minerals, collections, trips, and related records directly inside the App. Deleting the App from your device permanently removes all locally stored content associated with it.
We rely on the security mechanisms provided by the platform, including device encryption and sandboxing, to protect data stored by the App on your device. No method of electronic storage is 100 percent secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Effective date" and will be available within the App or at the URL provided in the App Store listing. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
