What are chain skills?
Chain skills are skills that can be used immediately after using another skill, without any delay or cooldown. They are indicated by a blue arrow icon on the skill bar, and a blue circle around the skill icon when it is ready to be used. Chain skills can be activated by pressing the spacebar or clicking the skill icon. Some chain skills can be used after multiple skills, while others can only be used after a specific skill.
Chain skills have several advantages over normal skills. They can:
Deal more damage than normal skills
Generate more willpower for the gunner's powerful abilities
Provide additional effects such as knockdown, stun, slow, or movement
Cancel the animation of the previous skill, making the combo faster and smoother
Reduce the cooldown of the previous skill or eliminate it entirely
However, chain skills also have some drawbacks. They can:
Consume more mana than normal skills
Require precise timing and positioning to execute properly
Be interrupted by enemy attacks or crowd control effects
Be unavailable if the previous skill misses or is blocked by the enemy
How to set up chain skills?
To set up chain skills, you need to open the skill menu by pressing K and select the chain skill tab. There, you can see all the available chain skills for your class and their prerequisites. You can drag and drop the chain skills to the skill bar, or use the default settings. You can also customize the order of the chain skills by clicking on the arrows next to them.

You can have up to four chain skills for each skill slot, but only one chain skill can be activated at a time. The order of the chain skills determines which one will be prioritized when you press the spacebar. For example, if you have Arc Bomb as your first chain skill and Time Bomb as your second chain skill after Blast, pressing the spacebar after Blast will activate Arc Bomb first. If you want to use Time Bomb instead, you need to click on its icon or press its hotkey.
What are some useful chain skill combinations for gunners?
There are many possible chain skill combinations for gunners, depending on your playstyle, preferences, and situation. However, here are some general tips and examples of effective chain skill combos that you can try:
To generate willpower quickly, use Scattershot as your main skill and Arc Bomb as your first chain skill. Both skills hit multiple enemies and generate 20 willpower per hit, up to a maximum of 100 willpower per skill. You can also use Time Bomb as your second chain skill after Scattershot for an additional 60 willpower from its two explosions.
To deal burst damage to a single target, use Burst Fire as your main skill and Mana Missiles as your first chain skill. Burst Fire consumes willpower but deals high damage per shot, especially with successive shots. Mana Missiles deals even more damage with its multiple missiles that have a high chance to crit and knockdown. You can also use Replenishment as your second chain skill after Burst Fire to restore 300 MP and 100 willpower.
To deal area damage to multiple targets, use Arcane Barrage as your main skill and Point Blank as your first chain skill. Arcane Barrage fires an energy pulse that damages all enemies in a line and can be detonated for a large explosion that knocks down enemies. Point Blank swings your arcannon to attack enemies within 7m and fires a second shot that moves you back. You can also use Rocket Jump as your second chain skill after Point Blank to escape from danger or reposition yourself.
These are just some examples of chain skill combinations for gunners, but you can experiment with different skills and find your own favorite combos. Chain skills are a powerful tool for gunners, and mastering them can make you a more effective and versatile fighter.
