Before joining Texas Tech, I served as an agricultural economist at Innov8Ag, a precision agriculture research company partnered with Microsoft. My role involved enabling growers to make informed on- and off-farm management decisions using machine learning and artificial intelligence. Specifically, I validated and prioritized investment-centric performance indicators for apple orchards, emphasizing those linked to agro-climatic sensors and replicable across different crops. I continue to serve as an advisory board member at Innov8Ag.
In Bangladesh, I began my career in the financial industry as a Management Trainee Officer at a private commercial bank. My role rotated between general banking functions, credit analysis, and foreign exchange functions, including reporting to the central bank.
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics, majoring in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics, and an M.S. in Statistics from Washington State University. I also earned an M.S. in Applied Financial Economics from Illinois State University and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
