If you want waterproof ear protection for swimming and sleep, choose Mobi Lock Ear Plugs; if you need a durable carrying case specifically for your Anker Soundcore Sleep A10 earbuds, choose DAYJOY 2. These two products sit at opposite ends of the audio accessory spectrum: one is a standalone hearing protection tool designed to block water and noise, while the other is purely an accessory meant to shield a specific pair of wireless headphones from damage. Confusing them would be a costly mistake, so let's cut through the noise and look at exactly what each offers based on their design and specifications.
• Mobi Lock Ear Plugs: The standout strength is its ability to provide active waterproofing and sound isolation (32dB) directly in the ear using moldable wax, making it ideal for swimmers; the trade-off is that it requires manual insertion and removal every time you use it. This pick is for anyone who needs to keep water out of their ears during aquatic activities or seeks a disposable-style solution for noisy environments.
• DAYJOY 2: The primary advantage is its rugged, flexible silicone construction with a carabiner clip, offering superior physical protection for delicate electronics; the major limitation is that it is not a product itself but strictly a compatible cover for the Anker Soundcore Sleep A10 earbuds only. This pick is for owners of that specific headphone model who want to prevent scratches, drops, and loss during outdoor sports or travel.
The Mobi Lock Ear Plugs are engineered as a direct intervention for your ears, not your gadgets. At the heart of this product is a formulation of premium wax and silicone that allows the material to be moldable. This isn't just marketing fluff; it means the plugs can contour precisely to the unique shape of your ear canal. When you press them in, they create a snug seal that is soft enough to feel like a pillow yet firm enough to stay put. This design choice addresses a common pain point with rigid earplugs that can cause pain after an hour of wear. The manufacturer has explicitly positioned these for scenarios where comfort and a tight seal are non-negotiable, such as sleeping in a loud household or working in a noisy environment.
Water resistance is the critical differentiator here. Unlike many foam or standard silicone plugs that might let water seep through over time, these are built to block water entirely. The specification sheet highlights their utility for "Swim & Surf Without Worries," noting they protect ears when swimming. This makes them a serious contender for those looking for the best rechargeable open ear headphones for swimming alternatives, though these are passive plugs rather than electronic devices. If you are a swimmer who gets frequent ear infections or simply hates the sensation of water clogging your ears, the 32dB Noise Reduction Rating suggests a significant barrier against both liquid and ambient noise.

However, you should skip these if you are looking for a long-term electronic device or something that doesn't require constant handling. Because they come in a pack of 30 reusable units, you will likely go through them relatively quickly depending on your usage frequency. They are also uncorded, which means you must be careful not to lose individual plugs once they leave the portable plastic case included in the box. While the case shields them from dirt, the lack of a lanyard or cord means you have to rely on your own dexterity to manage them. If you prefer a single, permanent device that you never have to insert and remove, this wax-based plug system might feel too much like a chore compared to a dedicated wearable.
The DAYJOY 2 is a protective shell, nothing more and nothing less. It is designed exclusively for the Anker Soundcore Sleep A10 earbuds. If you do not own these specific earbuds, this product is useless to you. The core value proposition lies in the material quality and the added safety features. Constructed from high-quality soft silicone, the case offers scratch-proof and shock-proof protection. This is crucial for earbuds that are small, expensive, and prone to getting lost or damaged in pockets, bags, or gym lockers. The silicone enclosure is described as antiskidding and durable, suggesting it provides a better grip than the bare earbuds themselves and absorbs impact if you drop your bag.
One of the most practical design elements for daily commuters and athletes is the anti-lost carabiner. This clip can be fixed onto a handbag, backpack, or belt loop, ensuring your earbuds are always accessible and never accidentally left behind. This feature makes the DAYJOY 2 particularly suitable for outdoor sports, running, and hiking, aligning with the "Sport" theme listed in its style details. Furthermore, the case includes a cutout at the bottom that allows you to charge the headset without removing the cover. This is a thoughtful engineering detail that saves time and reduces wear and tear on the charging ports, as you don't have to fiddle with taking the sleeve off every time you need a top-up charge.
Despite these strengths, the limitations are stark because of the specificity. It does not work with any other brand or model of earbuds. It adds bulk to your gear, even if the material is lightweight and flexible. You are buying a skin for a device you already possess, not a new listening experience. If you are looking for kids headphones for swimming, this product will not help you; it offers zero water resistance for the earbuds themselves and certainly does not block water from entering your ears. It is purely a storage and transport solution for a dry-environment device. If you plan to take your Anker Sleep A10 earbuds into the pool, this case offers no protection against submersion; it is merely a hardy shell against dust and scratches.
• Best for swimming and water exposure → Mobi Lock Ear Plugs, as they are explicitly designed to block water and sound for aquatic activities.
• Best for protecting expensive electronics → DAYJOY 2, providing a dedicated shock-proof and scratch-proof layer for the Anker Soundcore Sleep A10.
• Best for immediate noise reduction → Mobi Lock Ear Plugs, offering a 32dB Noise Reduction Rating to silence your environment instantly.
• Best for preventing loss during sports → DAYJOY 2, thanks to the integrated carabiner that clips securely to bags or belts.
• Best for charging convenience → DAYJOY 2, featuring a bottom cutout that enables wireless charging without removing the cover.
• Best for comfort in the ear → Mobi Lock Ear Plugs, utilizing moldable wax that conforms to the ear canal for a "soft as a pillow" fit.
• Best for portability and storage → Both excel here, but Mobi Lock offers 30 units in a compact case for travel, while DAYJOY offers a secure clip for on-the-go access.
• Best for versatility across devices → Mobi Lock Ear Plugs, since they are universal and not tied to a single brand of headphones.
I would buy the Mobi Lock Ear Plugs if my goal was to find a reliable solution for sleeping or swimming. In my opinion, the ability to physically block water and noise with a moldable, comfortable seal is a fundamental need that cannot be solved by a simple case. The DAYJOY 2 is an excellent accessory, but it is entirely dependent on owning a specific pair of headphones and offers no protection against the elements. If you are looking for the best rechargeable open ear headphones for swimming, you actually need the Mobi Lock plugs to replace the function of standard earbuds in the water, whereas the DAYJOY 2 case is just a shell for dry land use. For anyone prioritizing actual ear protection and water resistance, the Mobi Lock Ear Plugs are the clear winner.
