MIcro & Nano transducers lab

about mntl

The main research mission of the Micro & Nano Transducers Laboratory is to realize Micro/Nano Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS/NEMS)-based sensors for the acquisition of data from physical, chemical and biomedical signals. The mission also includes an expansive research of MEMS-based actuators and intelligent micro/nano sensing systems that possess smart interface electronics, preferably in a package or on a chip.

In order to accomplish such intelligent sensing/actuating systems, each discrete sensor or actuator must possess precise performance with greater functionality than simply gathering data and blindly transmitting the data to an external system. Combining these discrete devices with smart interface electronics and information processing functionality would allow an active autonomous sensing with intelligence.
