Whose Story

The history of teaching social studies is rife with a majority narrative that squelches the contributions and struggles of people of color, immigrants, and other marginalized groups of people. This site offers resources for teachers who want to help their students learn about the alternative voices, obstacles, victories, and ongoing struggles that are part of who we are as a nation and how our communities benefit from diversity. The materials are curriculum-based and oriented toward meeting the Minnesota Social Studies Standards.
