2017 News


  • 9/2017: Subhan Bista joined the lab as a graduate student. His research project is Computational Fluid Dynamics applied to soft robots.
  • 5/2017: Prof. Ashuri presented the lab's latest research findings in an invited talk at the Institute for Advanced Study in Delmenhorst, Germany about the state-of-the-art in the modeling and optimization of offshore support structure for wind turbines. Experts from academia, industry and certification agencies attended the event to exchange knowledge and the latest scientific achievements in the field.
  • 4/2017: Congratulations to Eduardo Mayen from our lab for being awarded the best Undergraduate Research during the Eighteenth Annual Student Research Symposium held at Arkansas Tech University.
  • 3/2017: Prof. Ashuri is selected as a member of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Multidisciplinary Design Optimization committee. Technical Committee members are experts in their fields from around the globe to support and organize AIAA technical activities to advance the science and cutting technologies in the field of Aerospace Engineering.
  • 3/2017: Andrea Bratton joined the lab as an undergraduate researcher. She will work on a NASA sponsored research project to develop new algorithms for optimal control of energy systems.
  • 2/2017: Valentine Okonkwo joined the lab as a graduate student researcher. Valentine will research a new mathematical model for statistical interpolation in turbulent flows, and other applications.
  • 1/2017: Our paper titled "Wind Farm Multi-Objective Wake Redirection for Optimizing Power Production and Loads" is accepted and published in the prestigious Energy journal.
